Hey ladies and gentlemen,
I just want to start this off by saying, “I’m sorry”. My goal of writing 5 days out 7 clearly didn’t turn out so well. Neither did my other goal of at least writing twice a week. I blame school. If you’ve ever had classes 5 days a week, from early morning till mid-afternoon then you know that it’s hard to do anything else after that time. Besides homework that is. So, I’m sorry! During this little hiatus from my lovely little blog I’ve done a whole lot homework, projects, reports and a teeny tiny bit of baking. The teeny tiny bit of baking has honestly been my one joy. I wish I could do it more often. Sigh.
I want this post to be a recap of the last month and a half-ish. The only problem is that it’s been THAT long. I don’t remember everything that’s happened, but here’s a go at it anyways.
- The only time I got a chance to bake was Thanksgiving (here in good ol’ Canada). My BFF, for life, and I decided to bake pumpkin cheesecake pie, pumpkin muffins with crumb topping and butter biscuits. Out of the three only two turned out good. Exceptionally good. Guess what ones! You can’t, can you? The pumpkin cheesecake pie and the butter biscuits turned out to die for. The pumpkin muffins, well um, they were awful The recipe didn’t call for liquids, which we found weird since it was a heavy dough-like consistency. So, we decided to add liquids. BIG MISTAKE. We then decided to turn the failed 300 lbs dough into loaves. Needless to say, no one ate it. The loaves sat around for a couple of days and I finally decided to through it away. Depressing.
- I finally tried out doing “Day of the Dead” or better known as, “Día de los Muertos” make up. I had way too much fun with this. I was also incredibly impressed with how well I did it. I mean, the line down my face wasn’t perfectly straight, but I was okay with that. A friend and I tried it out just to see if we could do it for Halloween. Good golly did we rock it! (I also then tried doing it on my BFF – who’s a guy). Tehehe. Anyways, here’s a picture of what it looked like.
The only thing I would change would be the silly spiderweb that I didn’t do that great of a job on. Oh, and maybe choose a darker green, or do different colours and maybe more roses! - I’ve been on a total nail kick, only because it’s not SO time consuming. I’m really loving the dark plums and burgundies/reds. So gorgeous and perfect with a big comfy cardigan! I was just in the middle of doing my nails when I had to answer the door and talk to some folks. Sigh. Way to disturb me! Kidding, obviously.
- Homework, homework and more homework. That’s pretty much it, oh, and working – but barely lol.
Anyways, there’s my spastic entry for the last little while. I’ve finally gotten the WordPress app on my iPhone and will hopefully fill you guys in more than I have in the last little while. Thanks again, and I’ll post the recipes for the cheesecake and biscuits soon, although, I don’t think I have the pictures still. We shall see!
-Denise
PS.
How are you all liking iOS 6? I went from a jailbroken iPhone to this and..well..I’ve had non-stop problems with it (for those of you who are Android fans and hate Apple, refrain from commenting). If you’ve upgraded to iOS 6.0.1, how’s that? I’m trying to keep myself from upgrading so I can jailbreak again, SO WORTH IT (untethered though).
